Medication needed for Refugee and Immigration Services
In recent weeks, several children and adults from Refugee and Immigration Services families have come down with the flu.  Some of these families do not have money to buy medication and their medicaid does not cover the cost of the medicine.  Items that are needed are as follows:

1.  Fever-reducing medication for both adults and children, such as Ibuprofen.
2.  Daytime and night-time flu and cold medication for congestion, cough, headache, etc.
3.  Pedialyte (for children) and Gatorade (for adults) to keep people hydrated.

Generic brands are fine but all medications must be new and sealed in the original container. Please take all donations directly to RIS at 820 Campbell Ave. SW, Roanoke, VA 24016.. Please label them "Attn:  Mary Beth Pizzino or Courtney Grohs"

Call RIS at 540-342-7561 ext. 320 if you have any questions.

Pope Benedict XVI declares "Year for Priests"
Pope Benedict XVI has declared a "Year for Priests" beginning with the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on June 19, 2009 to conclude in Rome with an international gathering of priests with the Holy Father on June 19, 2010.  With the announcement of this Year for Priests, the Pope has declared St. John Vianney the Universal Patron of Priests.  Please pray for our priests that they might always be faithful to their sacred calling.

Prayer for Priests
Dear Lord,
We pray that the Blessed Mother wrap
her mantle around your priests and
 through her intercession strengthen
them for their ministry.
We pray that Mary will guide your
priests to follow her own words, "Do
whatever He tells you" (Jn 2:5).
May your priests have the heart of St.
Joseph, Mary's most chaste spouse.
May the Blessed Mother's own pierced
heart inspire them to embrace all who
suffer at the foot of the cross.
May your priests be holy, filled with the
fire of your love seeking nothing but
your greater glory and the salvation of
souls.  Amen.
Saint John Vianney, pray for us.
