Women's Club

The Women's club provides opportunities of service as well as an avenue for getting to know our fellow parishioners.  The Club meets on the 4th Monday of each month at 11:30 am in the Parish hall for lunch, devotions, and programs.  The Club does not meet in the months of July or August.

The following Ministries and Groups are part of the Women's Club:
 
Book Club: 
Meets after the Women's club meeting on the 4th Monday of each Month to discuss the book assigned for that Month.

Craft Group:
This group meets to make items for periodic craft sales which financially benefit the church.  They also knit and crochet prayer shawls for our shut-ins.

Newcomers Group:
Hosts quarterly coffees to welcome new parishioners and has welcomed over 100 new families this year.

Bereavement Ministry:
Members are trained and are available to make friendly visits to the immediate family of recently deceased parishioners upon referral from Msgr. Miller or Philip Gallagher.

Outreach to the Elderly:
This ministry's focus is on our elderly shut-ins.  Teams of two visit the elderly and take Holy Communion to them.  Volunteers find this ministry highly rewarding.

Becoming A Lector >>
Pronounce the word of God to the entire church! There are generally three readings during mass. The first two are read by Lectors.
 
Eucharistic Ministers assist in distribution of the Body and Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Becoming An Altar Server >>
Altar servers assist the priest during liturgies, usually at weekend liturgies. 

Become a Proclaimer for Children's Liturgy of the Word >>
Gather with our children and reflect on the first reading and the gospel during the Liturgy of the Word at mass! Call the Parish Office at (540) 344-9814 to inquire.

Become a Catechist
There is no better way to learn about and deepen your faith than to share and celebrate that faith with our children and youth. We need catechists to work with all age groups.
