Christian Formation
St. Andrew's offers Christian Formation classes for students in grades Kindergarten through grade 11. The program year begins in mid September and runs through May. All classes take place on Sunday mornings from 10:15 - 11:15 AM. Please see the current calendar for exact dates.
These classes offer educational, prayer and formation opportunities for children appropriate to their age level and in accordance with the New Catechism of the Catholic Church.
Sacramental preparation for First Reconcilation and First Eucharist is offered in 2nd grade, provided that the student has had a minimum of 2 years of religious education. Confirmation is now received in the 10th grade in the Diocese of Richmond.
Students attending Roanoke Catholic School are exempt from attending Sunday morning Christian Formation, but are still required to attend Sacramental Preparation, per Diocesan guidelines.
Catechists for all Christian Formation and Sacramental preparation programs are always welcome, and training is provided.
